However, I have to admit, I do enjoy using a little bit of my own creativity to make the perfect hat for your special little one. :)

Just a little hobby...

Seventeen years ago, I picked up my first crochet hook. Wow, if that doesn't make me feel old, but it's true, I was nine years old learning to crochet for the first time. Throughout my childhood, I remember watching my mother crochet a blanket or a scarf here and there, but never took any interest in it. It wasn't until I was nine years old, when I wanted to learn how to crochet. I remember asking her if she could teach me and after several tries, I was actually doing it...I was crocheting!! My first completed project was a pot-holder. I'm pretty sure every woman in my family received one for Christmas that year. Eventually, I graduated to scarfs. I must have mastered the art of crocheting scarfs because, for several years, it was expected that I made everyone a scarf for Christmas! It wasn't until after I had my son, that I decided I wanted to expand my talent and try my hand at crocheting a hat. I decided to pick up my first crochet pattern. At first glance, I thought I was reading something in another language. If you've never read a pattern before, then let me just fill you in...everything is abbreviated. I was completely lost. I didn't think I would ever be able to figure out what all that jibberish meant. Well, thank heaven for youtube as well as several crocheting websites that helped me figure out all that abbrevated mumble-jumble. After a year of re-teaching myself how to crochet, I must say, I'm quite a pro at reading and interpreting crochet patterns. Which leads me into my favorite past-time...crocheting hats for little ones. Crocheting brings me so much joy. Not only do I find it relaxing, but the thought of a little one wearing an item that I handmade, specifically for them, brightens up my day. For this is the reason why I have decided to create this website; to help brighten this world with one stitch of heaven at a time. <3
